Happy 4th of July!!

For the holiday weekend, Rick and I decided to take a spontateous trip to Washington DC. We drove out on Wednesday night, to arrive in DC Thursday afternoon. We were a little worried about the 13 hour drive for the girls, but they were great!! Since we drove out at night, they slept the whole way their until 7am when we stopped for breakfast. And then on the drive home, they were also great, playing with their coloring books, reading books, and watching movies on the portable DVD player that we bought.
While in DC, we visited all the monuments, which were amazing to see in person, we went to the zoo, and also visited local playlots for the girls. Rick's older brother, Mani, is living there right now, so we were able to spend the weekend with him too. Plus it turns out my sister, Vanessa, was out there visiting her boyfriend, Alfredo, so we all spent the 4th together watching the fireworks. All in all, it was a wonderful trip!!

"Are we almost there yet?"

"How much longer?"

"Yeah!! We are finally here!"
