This year for our 4th of July road trip, we drove to Virginia Beach. It was a long 14 hours. On the way there, though, we stopped in Maryland, and surprised my sister by showing up at her door at 9pm. She was so happy to see us, and we were too. Even if it was just for a few hours. We slept the night there and continued on Friday morning. We arrived at Herb's place in Norfolk, VA in the early afternoon. After saying our hellos, we quickly changed into our bathing suits and headed to the beach! We had a great time! By the end of the trip, the girls were loving the water, and venturing into it more. We had perfect beach weather.
We also had a wonderful time spending the weekend with Herb. He was kind enough to allow us to stay with him the whole weekend. The girls loved playing with him, and having the run of a new place. THANKS TIO HERBY!!!
And then, of course, there were the fireworks, which were fantastic! They were better than Boston's! (that's where we went last year) All in all, we had an amazing trip.
