We spent all the month of July in Phoenix this summer. It was a way for us to get a taste of what was to come next year. Man, does it get HOT!!!! Most of the days we would spend about 2-3 hours at the pool. But when it would reach 117 degrees, not even the pool would help. Phoenix summers are like Chicago winters, time to hibernate. That was difficult, not being able to walk outside, or go to the park, or just stand outside. Unless you were in the pool, you needed the comfort of the AC to survive.
The whole month we kept busy. The girls took swimming lessons out there, and both learned to swim. They had a week of zoo camp, which they loved. My parents couldn't even resist, and came out for a long weekend. They celebrated Rick's birthday with us. I got to take them around Phoenix, and show them the area we are looking to buy a house. We even got to spend a weekend in California. We drove to San Diego to see a Padres game and then to Los Angeles to have dinner with Eva's godfather and his wife. All in all we truely enjoyed our time out in Phoenix.
But to be quite honest with you, nothing beats Chicago!
